WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!
WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!

Yes, it's true!
The 13th Wexford have won the County Wexford Scout Skills weekend yet again! That puts the 13th top Scout Troop 4 years in a row!

Well done to PL Laura Furlong, carrying the 4 year tradition of the mighty 13th!  The 13th have been on top for the last four years in a row, each time with a different PL, showing the adaptability of the scouts, none afraid to carry the mantle of PL for a Shield team, believe me, one of the toughest jobs in scouting!

But it didn't end there! Oh no! They also won the new Campcraft Award AND Trek cart race.

The winning team is pictured below and consisted of PL Laura Furlong, Thomas Redmond; Katie Martin, Rachel Corish, APL Seamus Redmond, Lisa O'Connor, Louise Bolger and Rory O'Connor.

What is the Scout Skills Weekend?
The Scout Skills is a yearly scout competition where all the scout troops in the region enter patrols of scouts to compete head to head against each other. It involves testing scouting, mental, analytical and physical skills of each patrol. Usually held over a weekend it could take place on a standing camp, or as in this years competition, an overnight hike with bases every few miles where the patrols face a challenge. Once completed, they continue their hike onto the next base.
