13th WEXFORD'S FINANCE COMMITTEE DO TROJAN WORK! The parents of the Finance Committee organised a "Bag-packing" weekend in May 2003 at Tesco supermarket, Wexford Town, which raised a staggering 2,466Euro!! The troop was delighted with this result and quickly put it to good use in purchasing some much needed tentage. We bought: 2 large Icelandic tents 1 large dining shelter 2 state-of-the-art Vango Venture 400 tents all of which were well used on this years Troop camp. The leaders of the Troop would like to convey their gratitude for the work of all the Parents that gave us a dig out on this fund-raising event which impacted directly on the guys and gals of the troop. There have also been a number of companies and individuals that have sponsored the troop also, and our sincere thanks go out to these people also. They include: Chadwicks Limited, Trinity Street, Wexford Town Mr John Browne T.D., Minister of State, Dail Eireann Dr Liam Twomey TD, Dail Eireann and of course Mr Cathal Conway, Manager of Tesco, Wexford, for allowing us use the facilities of his store to raise funds. So now that this batch of funding raised is almost spent, we're at it again this September!! Another "Bag-packing" weekend is organised for Dunnes Stores supermarket, Wexford so all hands on deck and hopefully raise the same if not more funds to enhance the scouting experience of all our kids! The Venture Section too raises funds at these events, but also it has it's own separate fundraising requirements in addition to the troop for it's own specialist activities. We are always looking for donations, which can be sent to VL Adrian Tennant (see "Contact the 13th Wexford" page). In return, we will advertise your business on our site. This includes your logo here on this page and your company web address. Et voila! Another potential client for you! |
