A few pics of the 13th Wexford Venturer Section in action in the Comeragh Mountain Range, County Waterford, Ireland.

Crotty's Lake, first stop.
The beautiful Crotty's Lake, nestled into the mountain side at over a thousand feet high. Not the easiest place to get to, but a good pitstop to allow for aclimatising, and of course...grub!
Lunch time in the hills!
Barry and Brian rustled up some hot grub to keep the energy levels up!
Almost at the top!
A view from the last stop before reaching the top. As you can see, we have breached the low cloud line at this point.
At a cliff top over looking Coum Iarthar and surrounding countryside.
As you can see, it hasn't taken a feather off of us....not!
At this stage our lungs were jumping out of our chests!
Cilff top overlooking Mahon Falls
Thats a pretty sheer cliff were perched on.
You can make out a road in the backround below us and the Mahon River to the left.
From here we did a rapid descent, something only for experienced mountain hikers.
Approaching the cliiftop at Mahon Falls for the rapid descent.
Again Mahon River and the road far below us.
Altitude sickness - a case study!
Gary, a common feature on this site, falls victim to the curse of high altitude hiking.
Here he does a stirring rendition of "The Hills Are Alive With The Sound Of Music", believing not that he was a member of the Van Trapp family, but Julie Andrews herself! Things got ugly when he tried to make clothes for the rest of us out of Adrians Gore-Tex jacket!!
